Here you will learn about
DBT
DBT contains 4 core modules, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
Each of these modules has its own lessons to teach.
In mindfulness you will learn to observe, describe, and participate, with focus on these actions being carried out one-mindfully, non judgementally, and effectively.
In distress tolerance you will learn skills to cope with difficult situations and emotions, without relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms. These can range from things you may already know and be using, such as distraction - to some lesser known skills such as TIPP and radical acceptance.
Emotion regulation helps to acknowledge, understand, and change emotional responses. You will learn to identify and name emotions, how to reduce your emotional vulnerability, and how to decrease your emotional suffering, using skills such as checking the facts and opposite action.
Lastly in interpersonal effectiveness you will learn better communication skills, how to be assertive, and how to nourish healthy relationships as well as end those relationships that are toxic or do not line up with your best self.
